I offer a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to explore questions, hopes and fears in therapy. My approach is warm, collaborative, and curious. As a psychodynamic therapist, I honor the importance of relationships to facilitate healing and change. Through compassion, reflection, and inquiry, I hope to create a space where clients feel cared for, affirmed, and empowered to explore the full range of emotions.
I work with school-aged children, adolescents, and adults. With children and adolescents I incorporate child-centered play therapy, developmentally-appropriate mindfulness techniques and expressive arts. I employ a whole-person approach to this work, examining the interplay of biological, psychological, sociocultural, and systemic factors that impact our mental health and wellness. Prior to joining the Center, I worked in outpatient and crisis centers, experiential education, and wilderness therapy, which deepened my understanding of the importance of integrating body, mind, spirit, and nature into healing work. I work with people looking to deepen their understanding of themselves, who struggle with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationships, academic difficulties, and difficult life transitions, among others. I welcome people of diverse racial, ethnic, gender, and sexual identities, as well as those of any religious or spiritual affiliation.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of North Carolina and received my Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I completed clinical training at the UNC Department of Psychiatry Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program and am an active member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I invite you to reach out to see whether I might be a good fit for you. I look forward to walking alongside you in this work.
